This page for all the random clips of journalism I’ve done in the past for a print publications in Glassboro, New Jersey.   Mostly movie reviews.  This page is still incomplete and contains only a few clips, but I will update in the future.

‘Science of Sleep’ mixes dreams and reality  (9/28/06)  – My first published movie review for The Whit.  This one was fun to write because it gave me a great excuse to go to New York City for free (payed for by the publication) and the editor Rob, also one of my best friends, needed to full pages to be filled.  So I decided to rant on and all for about 1400 words of dribble and interpretation stuff.  Apparently this showed some kind of dedication and exceeded the expectations of the other editors in the office.  So they gave me a weekly “Whit Award” certificate that misspells expectations  (‘expectaions’), which I proudly hang on my wall for giggles.

‘Smokin’ Aces’ few cards short of full deck (2/1/07) – Quicky review for a cool, but forgettable action flick.

Norbit – One Sentence Review (2/15/07) - Because the movie isn’t worth more than one sentence.

‘Lives of Others’ a brilliant look at colder time (3/8/07) – Amazing movie.  Won the 2007 Oscar for best Foreign Language Film.

‘The Host’ a refreshingly satirical romp (3/29/07) – What happens when Godzilla and Little Miss Sunshine combine into one movie

PRSSA President appointed to national position (4/12/07) – Not a movie review.  A features story about a Public Relations major Ryan Matejka being apointed to a national PR position as a Vice President where he becomes in charge of over 9000 people all over the country.  I’d imagine he’d want to add this to his own portfolio.

Kinsey Sicks present raunchy song and drag show (4/26/07) – Another Rowan features story.  This one is about a cross-dressing cappella group, which actually made for a very entertaining show.  The last line of this article was actually a joke to the editor Stacey.  If I knew that she was going to leave it in the article, I probably would’ve considered retracting it.  Probably…

Unpublished - These are articles I wrote that have not been published in print.  Mostly assignments for classes.  Although just because they haven’t been published doesn’t mean I didn’t put in every bit a lot of effort and research into this articles.  They have not been copy-edited or very polished, but they’re still stories that I’ve spent a lot of time and research putting together.   This is just my attempt to reach out to the people I wrote about and do them a bit of justice.

‘Sign for Life’ A look at South Jersey resident sign language interpreter Vivian Grabau (12/13/07) – Pitched to South Jersey Magazine for my Magazine Article Writing class.  I’ve never gotten anything back from them, but I wrote this with a lot of guidance from my professor and friend Charles Harrison, who liked the article a lot.  I also got to spend a lot of time with Vivian and got to see what the deaf community is like.  Maybe South Jersey Magazine will contact me about it one day, but for now, this is the best I can do for Vivian Grabau.
